Tidings From The East

Brethren,

Thus far we've had a very good year in Columbine Lodge. The Masonic education presentations this year have been very interesting and informative adding to the increased attendance. Active participation by the members has certainly increased the air of renewed vitality at our meetings. Again I encourage all of our members to not only attend the meetings, but the planned events as well. Watch the Trestle Board for those scheduled dates.

Bro. Herb Carr has put a lot of effort into the planning and organizing Masonic Youth Night on May 26th. Please show your support of these terrific young people by attending the festivities. I'm sure you will have a great time.

The Picnic Committee has put together some fantastic family activities this year: ther will be Bar-B-Q, games and prizes for everyone. Join us for a good "old fashioned family picnic."  You may wish to practice for the potato sack race. The picnic is June 27th at Cook Park rain or shine!  Don't miss it.

I have arranged a White Water rafting trip for July 25th for a half day trip down the Arkansas River through the Royal Gorge. Cost is $56.65 per person. To reserve this date we need to pay half the cost by May 15th. Contact me as soon as possible and reserve your spot. If you have never gone white water rafting now is your chance. This is an experience you don't want to miss,.
I would like to share a quote by one of our more famous and distinguished brothers:

“Let us endeavor so to live that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry.” ~ Bro. Samuel Clemens, Polar Star Lodge No. 79 AF&AM, St. Louis, Missouri.

These are simple words by which all men should endeavor to live their lives, but as Master Masons we should especially strive to exemplify this sentiment on a daily basis. Every day should be a new challenge to not only improve ourselves, but the world around us. “Friendship, Morality and Brotherly Love” is our creed and should be our life-long goal. So each morning ask yourself, “If today is my last day on earth, how do I wish to be remembered?”

Let's keep up the pace and continue to have a great year.

Fraternally,
.

Robert T. Siebers I
Worshipful Master
